Before purchasing I did a little research, watched a couple videos and kind of thought to myself, "It can't actually be that bad, can it?" well, I suppose unfortunately for me and everyone else that shelled out the thirty bucks, it really is. Everything in the game is just bleh, the artistry is bleh, the enemy design is bleh, the music is bleh, the story is bleh, the combat is bleh. Normally I will suffer through a game for at least a few hours before I make a decision wether I think it is bad or not, but this one from the start just felt poorly made. Its a let down for sure, cool concept, very, very poorly executed.. I can't even finish the tutorial, this is a boring game. Maybe I should give it more of a chance, but the character is slow to straff, slow to move around, has weird inventory control, and you can't use guns that you pick up until you get to an obilisk. I might try it again later, but I'm not enthusiastic about it.. Dark Souls meets gears of war. Unforgiving but rewarding shooter. This is the best game of the 00's you never played.. This is a great and a very solid souls-like action rpg game, it's pretty much the only high quality sci-fi souls-like action rpg out there, it might be rough around the edges but simply judging by the gameplay it has tons of different weapons, environments, enemies, bosses, nicely done combat system which involves third person shooting, dodging and carefully evading attacks and going full melee when needed.Very nice sense of progression with tons of loot and bosses, oh and did i forget to mention New Game+?There is always a need to acquire some new loot and it actually feels rewarding. Now i give this amazing gem 8.5\/10 because of some annoying enemies at few sections of the game but problems with them is mostly due to inexperience, once you learn the tactics they are much easier to fight yet are still quite formidable opponents. Something is emerging in The Cosmos....: Something is emerging in The Cosmos.... In time, we will see.... New Game+ for Immortal: Unchained is here!: Hello Immortals! Our New Game+ expansion to Immortal: Unchained is now available as a free update. Below you can find a quick recap of what you can expect, so prep your guns and dive back in!First of all, there will be a total of four extra possible playthroughs with each one being progressively more difficult. You will be offered to start NG+ after you defeat the final boss (no spoilers!), or if you have already done so, by interacting with the Monolith. That enables you to keep exploring the world before starting NG+ if you so wish. Maybe you still have some armor shrines to collect or locked chests to open, and we don’t want to force you into NG+ before you’re ready. Once you do choose to start NG+, the full character will transfer over and start at the beginning of the game. This means that you keep stats, weapons, armor upgrades, and items. The only thing that is reset, is the world state, so all bosses are alive again, and the key items that you are carrying are removed. Lore items will also carry over, so if you’re missing some last drops for the Lore Master achievement, then you can continue collecting in NG+. We wanted the extra playthroughs to be a continuation of your game rather than a total restart, and this is our guiding design. We are also adding specific achievements for finishing each extra playthrough. These achievements won’t count towards the Completionist achievement, because we’re not gonna take that away from you... Additionally, you can restart as many times as you wish after you finish the 4th extra run, even though the difficulty won’t increase. Alright onto armor upgrades! Whenever you start a new run in Immortal: Unchained all the shrines in the world reset back to their unclaimed state. This means that you can keep collecting armor upgrades in each new playthrough and try to keep pace as the world around you also gets stronger. It is very important that you collect all the shrines you can find though since any armor shrine you haven’t collected when moving on to the next playthrough is lost…When you collect weapons in NG+ and beyond, you will notice that they are stronger variants of the original versions. We wanted you to still get a feeling of finding better equipment and progressing. Naturally, the weapons don’t improve as fast as the enemies, but if you wanted this to be easy, you’d be playing something else, right? To keep pace with the player’s increased damage output, we have buffed enemy health and damage, but not with the intention to make them bullet sponges: The encounters should still feel short and deadly! Apart from that, we have also tweaked movement speed, attack patterns, attack cool-downs, and elemental resistances. The overall effect is that you need to adapt to NG+ and that there is a sense of freshness to fighting the Undead. In the first replay of the game, you should also keep your eyes open, because some Undead now spawn in new locations. Don’t let the familiarity lull you into a feeling of safety…. Patch 1.04 is live!: We had some minor tech issues to solve before shipping this patch, but I'm hapy to say that it is now live!Patch Summary:In this patch, we have fixed some of the blockers & crashes that people have reported in the forum. On the design side, we have increased the damage for assault rifles & SMGs and made ammo packs more likely to drop from enemies. Additionally, we have made stun-locking of certain bosses more difficult and added a clearer VFX trail to enemy melee attacks. Bugs & crashes:- Fixed a bug that could cause the boss chest to not spawn if players died at the same time as the boss- Fixed a crash with equipping/unequipping certain weapons- Fixed a progression blocker if players progress further in the game than intended prior to the invasion event- Fixed an issue that caused the bridge in Arden prison to not extend- Fixed a progression blocker for when players have killed all 3 beasts, but cannot deliver the hearts- Fixed the missing pop-up for when collecting a duplicate armor shrine upgrade- Made the obelisk UI factor in upgrades on total ammo capacity for consistency- Fixed Polish grammar mistake on laddersBalance Fixes:- Assault rifles and SMGs have increased damage. Some specific weapons had minor adjustments to ammo to even out the total potential damage calculation. - Significantly increased the chance of enemies dropping an ammo pack- Naylon, Housecarl Invader, and Malog have modified stability damage multipliers to make stun-locking more difficult. Naylon also has increased stability. - Added particle trail to the enemy melee attacks for better visual feedback on the damage are. Patch notes 7th February 2019: Design:* The game now pauses while the curse menu selection is activeBugs:* Fixed a problem where carrying dual pistols would trigger kill boxes and kill the player without warning.* Fixed the explosive projectile crash on zombie kill with the Predator aspect equipped while switching weapons* Fixed the crash in all units with stationary navigation (like Arlen's minion)* Fixed the crash while gathering possible aim targets and the targets were either props or critters* Fixed issues where the player would die during the curse selection.
